Searching the forums I found a multitude of older threads discussing traveling with beer in checked baggage, even internationally, but I didn't see anything from the last year or two. I'm heading to Mexico and wanted to bring some beer with me that I've been saving for a special occasion. Is there any new information I should be aware of, or just pack carefully to prevent breakage and hope for the best? Do I need to declare anything going into Mexico? It won't be returning with me so I'm not worried about the US customs side.

You don't have to declare beer when you drive in to Mexico, so I wouldn't think you would have to declare it when you fly in.

What city in MX are you flying into?

Be prepared to pay off the customs down there. I bet they confiscate it and drink it themselves.

I believe there is a 3 liter duty free limit, but otherwise it is fine - Double check the duty free limit and you should always declare it on the customs form, you will be fine!

Yes you can bring 3 liters of beer in the checked baggage, no problem. (I´m mexican and usually bring beer from other countries).
