hello friends, i'm flying out from san diego to NYC tomorrow, and i plan to hit up some breweries in brooklyn before dinner on saturday. what recommendations do you have for me? so far i've been reading up on the following spots:

    six point brewery
    green point brewing
    other half brewing
    threes brewing

I can personally vouch that Other Half is a must hit. You can't miss that one. Threes Brewing is a really good stop, too. Can't personally vouch for the other two, though I'm not the biggest fan of Sixpoint overall.

yeah it seemed like other half was the only real slam dunk out of the group, but i have some time to kill. any pubs with good taplists are also on my radar...

Sixpoint is not open to the public.

I do suggest Other Half and Threes Brewing. If you're going to check out Greenpoint Ales over at Dirck the Norseman, then I also suggest you walk over to Keg+Lantern and check out their beers too. Then walk across the intersection to Torst.

If you go to Torst, which you should, be sure to bring a good chunk of cash. It's really expensive, possibly the most expensive beer bar in the city. But the taplist is often crazy good.

Kanger's list is great, helped me a lot when I visited NYC. I'd suggest Barcade, Owl Farm, Spuyten Duyvil, Double Windsor, and Mission Dolores.

Owl Farm is a great spot that is close to both OH and Threes, as is Mission Dolares. Covenhoven is my favorite bar in BK, but I'm a bit biased as it is my local spot. NYC/BK shops and bars (mostly) do a good job at updating what they have via beermenus, so if there's something specific you're looking to try there's a good chance you could find it on there.

It could be that OP is referring to Greenpoint Beer Works, the Heartland/Kelso brewery tap room. But hey, Greenpoint Beer and Ale is probably more solid.

If you are landing at La Guardia you will be 2.4 miles from Single Cut in Queens! I assumed Keslo/Greenpoint also, I've been once and enjoyed it, fairly close to Other Half and Threes. All good advice here so far have fun!

If you're going to Peter Lugers, then you can easily walk over Banter. They will definitely have the Soccer game on. http://banterbrooklyn.com/

It's only about a 5 minute walk from Lugers.

Good stuff, boys. Banter sounds great, but seems like it might fill up pretty quickly. I'll give it a shot...
