I've had numerous occasions where I'm tearing through a box of Cheez-Its, (favorite junk food), and then I pour myself a beer. There's just something disgusting about the styles I've had with the cracker snacks that just make the cheese taste really bitter--even with malt forward beers.

Does anyone have any proof that a beer can be matched with this awesome snack food?

I also LOVE Cheese-Its but anything cheesey will mess with your pallete. I would trying something sour that's been aged in wine barrels. Like Tectum Et Elix.

I've tried a few Belgian ales, and they didn't go any better. Simple saisons. I just kind of gave up on the idea that beer would go well with Cheez-Its.

Orange Juice! I know it's not a beer.. But holy shit! Cheez-Itz and OJ are my favorite.

I second the OJ pairing... I thought I was the only one! Maybe a big stout or porter? Lots of sweet to offset the salty

Lemme guess, I should brush my teeth first, right? :grinning: Definitely leaning towards an Oberon now. Cheers.

The responses so far are classic. That is all. No suggestion from me.

Well, maybe fake cheese stuff. Plenty of styles of cheese pair well with beer!

Only on this site would a suggestion to go with a 2 buck box of junk food be a 20 dollar beer.

I can't believe two other people like cheez-uts with OJ! That is my favorite guilty snack.

As far as beer goes I can't imagine anything working. Maybe a hefeweizen could work.

Funny you bring up the topic because one of my most memorable beer & food pairings involved cheez-its. The first time I had Habanero Sculpin on tap, we had some cheez-its. While I don't care too much for Habenero Sculpin on its own, it was really good with cheez-its!

Next questions - what barrel aged beer to pair with a Big Mac? a Hungry-man frozen dinner? a microwaved burrito from 7-11?
