I'm a little late in posting this, but since I'm already using one of my few Saturdays off this summer to post local beer info, I figured why not: http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2015/jun/12/brewer-taps-in-to-cheney/ Apparently there was a hell of a crowd on their opening a few weeks ago (guess college students dig beer...). The owner/brewer admitted at the time that he was having a little difficulty dialing in his new system and his draft system due to the differences in temperature between Cheney and his previous home in Alaska (didn't hep that late spring and much of this summer has been far hotter than normal), but I imagine that will change with time and some judicious tweaking. In this day and age where everyone opening a brewery seems to be either doing Belgian beers or concentrating on classic drinkable ales, it sounds like he's up for brewing all sorts of things, which could be cool if done with some restraint (see Iron Goat) instead of trying to brew 8 million things at once and not get anything dialed in. I plan to hit it at some point when time and money, and a lack of other things to do allow for a field trip to Cheney (usually when that happens I seem to go the other direction toward Selkirk Abbey....). Anybody been there yet?
I went and it was cool. The owner is still figuring out his equipment I believe but the beers were good and its in a cool part of Cheney.
