I hope you mean $28. $38 would mean they were totally screwing their patrons.

This was retailing for $30 and more at some places, so I am not shocked at $38 and would pay that for the Cherry Rye.

I know that in Chicago many bars were charging $40 & up, so I wouldn't be surprised at all. They were selling for around $20 in most stores; sometimes much more. I was very pleasantly surprised that Buster's had them for $28.

$28 at a bar is a steal, Buster's is just an awesome bar.

Two bottles split eight ways works out to roughly $9.50/6oz. Found it to be worth every penny.

If anyone lives in the area and wants to split a bottle of Cherry Rye tonight, I'm in! All my beer buddies are either already drunk, with family or out of town and I can't fly solo on a bottle of this, well at least not in public. Would love to try it before it's gone...

    Meh...

He seemed pretty excited about it and undoubtedly enjoyed every drop of that Cherry Rye. Fine by me.

Was at butcher and boar last night. Tried bramble and cherry rye side by side. It was 32$ a bottle. A little steep but worth the experience IMO

I paid $20 a week ago for a bottle of Cherry Rye at a Twin Cities bar. $32 is crazy IMO. It's good but not nearly as good as the regular BCBS and not even in the same conversation as the BCBCS. There's so much hype surrounding cherry as it's so hard to get but that is a beer that didn't live up to the hype for me.

Wow, that's a heckuva deal! Retail was $20, cool of a bar to sell it with little to no markup.

If you like coffee than BCBCS is going to taste better than Cherry Rye although I don't think BCBS is better than Cherry Rye. Personally, I thought Cherry Rye was above and beyond this years BCBCS and BCBS. BCBS is too sweet right now even if you let it warm up. I wish I didn't read up so much on BCBCS leading me to consume it. The coffee was overwhelming.

Im extremely glad that you found it for 20 and that you like coffee better. I on the other hand didnt find it for 20. So, I called 2 friends up and we went to a bar, had a good time, drank bramble and cherry rye side by side (enjoying both), and I walked out paying 23 dollars for my share. I didnt think it was unreasonable, considering that 23 bucks would barely cover shipping on those bottles and I'd have to spend my time tracking them down.
    cheers
