Hey guys first post here and BA after lurking for a bit! but my question is are there any good beer places around town besides Pats, Wiseway, and Jewel Osco? I know Octave Grill in town has a few craft beer selections on tap every week, but any other places worth checking out I don't know about?

A friend of mine (actually the brother of one of my best friends from college) is in the process of opening a brewery in Chesterton. It will be right off of 49 but can't remember where exactly (not from the area). I think it is gonna be called Hunter's or something like that. Last I heard he has most of the necessary licenses/permits in order, just working on the construction. It should be very small batch with a small taproom. Keep an eye out.

I think you've named them all from what I know. Aside from Figure Eight, Shoreline (meh) and Floyd's.

Maybe Bartlett's in the Beverly Shores area. Food is excellent and they rotate a few craft beers (currently have three Bell's beers on tap).

Dude, you're about a half hour from Greenbush, exit 12 in Sawyer Michigan. Drive another 20 minutes and you can visit The Livery in Benton Harbor. Bare Hands in Granger Indiana is probably 45 minutes. Go back over the posts about Michigan breweries in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids areas. You're only a couple of hours away from some the best beer being brewed. Welcome and enjoy.

Thank you guys for the quick replies  I've been to shoreline and like you said its just meh. Been to Floyds once and loved it there, but thats a little bit of a drive from cheesetown. I will absolutely have to check out a few of the places mentioned in Michigan if their brewing some of the best beer around. Thank you guys again.

30 minutes from Greenbush doesn't seem accurate. Not much more but I'd imagine its closer to 45 minutes or so. Then again I'm from Portage so maybe that's why I'm confused.

I live in Dyer and we can make it there in an hour if we hit green lights on Calumet Avenue.
Even so, Greenbush (and all the others) are well worth another 15 minutes.

Yeah I-94 runs for about 45 miles in Indiana and he would be getting on at exit 26. 19 + 12 miles in Michigan....shouldn't be much more than 30 minutes unless he is super far off the highway.
