Chevy Chase Wine no longer doing lists

    I dreaded the day this would happen (slight sarcasm). That said, I suppose I contributed to the problem by telling them I didn't want BCBS (already got it elsewhere) and KBS (Also got it elsewhere and I'm not dealing with their parking situation for one bottle). At least I called them to tell them to sell it to someone else.

    Called today to ask if a friend could pick up my bottle of "Doom" and asked if they had a Parabola list going. He told me no more lists because they end up getting stuck with too much beer that people never show up to pick up. Bummer. I hope he knows he's going to get significantly more phone calls now.

    Personally, I'm a huge fan of this decision, particularly because of the shady way they tended to run their lists anyway. On several occasions I asked them about a new beer coming out and whether they were taking a list. They always told me that they weren't. Then when the beer would come out, I would call or go into the store and they'd tell me I couldn't have the beer because I wasn't on the list! The list they apparently weren't taking when I'd asked about it weeks earlier. So yeah, good riddance to the Chevy Chase list system.

    Addendum: Maybe they were just giving you the runaround like they always did to me.

    I know this one place that has lists and then they hold it for TWO WEEKS. And they'll give you more time if you ask them.
