hey all. so I'm gonna be out this coming wknd til mon night - curious if any interesting beer releases by chance. places to go, interesting restaurants, etc. I'll be staying either river north or by wrigley but in both most of the time. cancelled my rental bc it wasnt worth it so will be limited to uber lyft subway. don't mind a few, there's 4-8 of us for much the roaming around stuff. also, do the une annee 2017 releases go to stores too or are they brewery only? and yes, I've searched already. just seeing if anything else I missed since chicago has alot of good options. cheers!
Did you mean 5/6-5/8? If so, I'm assuming you've already seen this but Half Acre is releasing their Galactic Double Daisy Cutter on Friday. While you're in that area, hit Dovetail and Begyle. Go to Bad Apple (nice beer list, great burgers) for lunch or dinner.
yea, saw that after but missed the edit time. doh! saw the ddc release, do cans last or sell out quick? I'll likely be that way sat night or more so sun. I dont mind draft only, just curious. beygle is on the list and band of bohemia. bad apple is a place I'd dig, thanks. I miss une annee by like 3 hrs cuz some of my friends aren't beer peeps so I'm beat til we get to hotel. and they're closed monday, bummer. do those limited bottles sell at stores too do you know? 2017-3 looks excellent. few my friends brought back different le seul, thought they were solid. hoping to find least a few good stouts on draft somewhere. will have to check beermenus.
yea, I know that. I meant my friends got them previously. I'm referring to the ones marked 2017-1, 2, 3, 4. just couldn't remember the name. le grand monde, looked it up. not familiar for those.
Those do not see any distro unfortunately. They're reserved for members and a portion is released to the public, but you can currently only get them at the tap room.
Hey man, saw you have your own thread going. Craft bars in River North- Clark St Ale House (beer garden) & Centennial (new). Basically most places will have craft beer- Hubbard Inn has cool setting & I see they have Une Annee Maya (not sure if updated taplist). Not sure what type of scene you're into, but R North is more upscale, with your “clubbing” type places. There are some sweet rooftop bars around there (mostly high-end/“clubby” but more chill during day). Bottled Blonde is pretty popular sports bar, but again, it has a “club” vibe. Restaurant rec’s- Duck Duck Goat (dim sum place West Loop, owner of Little Goat) Lena Brava (Rick Bayless seafood place next to his Cruz Blanca brewery) Joe’s Stone Crab (seafood & steakhouse) Wildfire (my fave steakhouse- best value) Maestro’s Steakhouse Architecture boat tour is supposed to be great. Sears Tower (aka Willis) is always popular. Grab a cocktail top of Hancock. Trump Tower has cool patio bar. Grant Park on lakefront is chill to walk around. But who are we kidding, you have the Chicago craft beer scene to conquer! Haha.
Sears Tower is a shit show. Skip it and go to the Hancock bar. The view is better from there anyway, and it's free with no wait. You could spend hours at the Sears tower just in line.
Oh wow yeah i just read le seul and 2017 and figured you meant regular releases from this year, my bad. For a beer bar between river north and wrigley, I'd def hit up Binny's lincoln park (they almost always have something good on tap) and Local option. Local option's website has all their beers currently on draft, some examples you might like are high westified, KBS and speedway nibs and beans....i really need to get over there again.
such I figured, but was worth a shot. few the guys driving to cinci monday for the next yankees game so hoping they get the car sunday for that. the driver is the only other one who is into craft beer. thanks alot guys! I did most of the tour stuff last time, it was just a while so specifics are foggy. I'll probably only do that unless the girls want to and we get roped in. def gonna hit up some good eats though and I'll sneak off if I have to for a few craft spots. def snagging a few bottles and least a 6er. I just can't go too crazy cuz I did at wakefest with the shipping lol but we actually get a ton of pipeworks now and some half acre, just not the release one (live near an excellent bottle shop like binnys, I'm right on ny border...thankfully cuz ct selection is meh tho starting to get better) I'll def be grabbing drafts of everything still and soaking up what I can't get as much as possible though. cheers.
