Hello fellow BAs. My brother is coming to visit me in NJ this weekend and I want him to bring me some local regional beers that do not make it out here. What I need from you folk would be some suggestions that he could go to a standard beer store/decent bottle shop and pick up. I know he lives near Loyola, so if there is any good stores near there that someone might know of, will help as well.

I like most styles, but prefer APA/IPA/DIPA and typical sour styles.

I have had some half acre- like daisy cutter.

Are there any beers from these breweries that he could definitely find?

Yes Pipeworks are readily available, you can check their website http://pdubs.net/beers/ to see what is available right now. I know Nelson Sauvigon IPA was released recently and he may be able to score some big hugs from HA if it hits distro soon.

Definately Pipeworks. If you have not had Revolution Anti Hero, I would have him pick that up for you. He may be able to find a bomber of Local Hero too. If he can find Half Acre Heyoka, I would have him pick that up too.

I appreciate it! I will definitely ask him to do that.

If there's any Sure Bet by Pipeworks left around, I'd keep an eye out for it. Similarly, Permanent Funeral by FFF is just starting to hit Chicago, and it's possibly my favorite current DIPA (Sure Bet is up there too). I second Heyoka, which is great as well.

    Half Acre (Pony, Heyoka)
    Ale Syndicate (Richie)
    Spiteful (canned: pick one)
Revolution (the Gene series is making the moves right now with Blue and Bean, and A Little Crazy was packaged last week and it might actually be in sixers at the taproom today, Fistmas, because it's christmas in a can and the label work rules)
Pipeworks (what other people say, the Budapest Gambit is around again, and that beer is FIRE)
Arcade (Festus Rotgut, because it's good, and you might want to hold on to the bottles because they are bad ass and probably will become collectable in their own right)
Off Colour (because a cat named bitches demands that you try some and will pee on your shoe if you don't.)
Metropolitan (because they make lagers which are tasty)
    Local Option Bierwerks
    Temperance (Gatecrasher)

Not much that hasn't been listed. Strong thumbs up for Heyoka and Pipeworks (pick up Ninja vs. Unicorn or Nelson Sauvin...if he can find it.) Also, Small Town Not Your Father's Root Beer is always a favorite for out of towners...Penrose Fractal if they sell it at the shop you're visiting.
