BA's hope everyone is well. My wife and I will be traveling to Chicago this weekend to celebrate our 6 year wedding anniversary. Hoping to find some BCBS on tap somewhere around the city center. Already checked the tap list at GI and it looks like there only is BCBW on tap. Already had my fill of that this year. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Cheers!!!

I don't know anywhere off the top of my head, but keep in mind that GI's taplist rotates, so they may switch barleywine off sometime this weekend. I would imagine some place in Chicago has BCS on right now, I just don't follow the bars around here that closely, so I'm kind of useless.

Good places to watch: Northdown Taproom, The Green Lady, Links Taproom, Local Option are a few.

If I hear/see anything, I'll pop back in the thread.

I think you should be able to find somewhere to grab at least regular. I feel like this year it's been even more abundant past the new year than it was last year. Check out both BeerMenus and Untappd. If you have any further inquiries, feel free to DM me. BCBS can be a bit weird when it's on tap - I know places where it stays on for days to a week (and that includes Coffee and Prop), but then yesterday Monk's ran out of regular in less than a day. You never quite know, but they pop up at a LOT of places now. Prop has been seemingly everywhere...well, maybe that's a stretch, but it's at a lot places you wouldn't even expect it.

So long as you don't expect to find Coffee, you should do well. WHY IS THERE SO MUCH PROP AND SO LITTLE COFFEE!?!?!?

I saw that last night the Logan Bar and Grill had regular, prop, and barleywine. On Tuesday, the Harding Tavern will have regular. On Wednesday, the Owl will have regular and prop. All 3 places are in the Logan Square neighborhood, just off the blue line.

Not sure how long you'll be in town though. I'd call Logan Bar and Grill to check on Saturday for leftovers. It's across the street from the Revolution brewpub, a new Fernet Bar, and a bunch of other cool stuff.

    Nice job!

And yeah, Logan couldn't be much closer to public transportation.

JP Burkes Patio has Regular and Monks Pub tapped a bunch a couple days ago including coffee. If you look at BeerMenus it looks to be on tap all over. i would always call ahead first tho.

Thanks all! Just arrived and trying to get settled. My mind wants even thinking Prop but now I want to seek it out. Never had it. Any other places that may have it on draft??

Enjoy your weekend! The weather is going to be incredible, so be outside as much as possible! If you do a little digging, you'll find it somewhere..the suggestions above are usually spot on! A little gem I discovered a couple months ago is a place calles Jackson Tavern on Jackson (just east of the Willis Tower). Not sure where you're staying but if you head to the Tower at one point to do the skydeck, this could be a good pit stop as it's a block away:
Pollyana Chain Letter with Vanilla Bean $10/10oz
Bells Traverse City Whiskey 355 East $9/10oz
Une Annee Le Seul XV (watermelon) $9/10oz
    Hopslam
    Breafast stout..

I can't quote this enough. Check out Sheffields if you want a good beer selection and a patio to soak up the incredible weather we're having.

Delilah's is having their vintage beer fest tomorrow and they mention having GI stuff, but not specifically saying which beers. I thought for some reason they focused more on sours for that, so it might be vintage sour sisters...but, I could be completely wrong.

Beer Bistro has bottles of Prop for $45...not terrible, but certainly could see if you wanted to pass on that. Madison Public House still shows it available on Beer Menus, but that was last updated on 2/14, so that seems like it'd be gone by now.

Motherfuck. I was walking by randomly last Saturday (on the way to the fernet bar) and saw a flyer in the window for the BCS and and stopped in.

The chick behind the bar didn't seem to know what was going on, and when I ordered a prop, she said it was gone.

I'm now pretty certain is what at the "other" bar.

This morning, Hopleaf added bourbon county to beermenus. $5 for 7 oz. It's near downtown, but it's as good of a beer bar experience as you'll get in the city. Or anywhere else.

There's a lot of good advice here. Best bit of advice checking beermenus & Untapped is always a good idea.

Keep your eyes peeled, while last year it was fairly easy to find a place with regular on draft it's becoming more available this year. It might not be a cool hip place to be but Whole Foods will sometimes also have it on draft if you're REALLY looking to get some.

The First Draft is kinda a poopy Sports bar but they basically advertise having BCS on draft all the time. Last time I checked they also had KBS.

Other cool beer places to check out: Haymarket (honestly the all the West Loop has some cool places with awesome beer lists), Beermiscuous, & Monk's Pub.

I'm planning a trip to Chicago within a month or two and I thought I heard that the Goose Island tap room puts on a Bourbon County variant on every 3rd Friday. Is that still a thing or is there anything similar?
