Who on here is going? Hope to see you guys there (even if I don't know who you will be)! 2nd edit: Facebook page shows BCS coming!
I'm assuming this: http://www.thechicagobeerfestival.com/ There's a comment to be made about the pictures of past (err... this is the first year so who knows who those people are or where they were drinking) attendees on the website, and how representative they may or may not be of actual crowds, but I'll just leave it at that.
I wonder what promotions-company-looking-to-make-a-quick-buck-off-the-current-craft-beer-craze this is? The domain is listed as a private registration.
This write-up on the Festival is great - especially the last line: http://chicagoist.com/2012/03/27/chicago_beer_festival_does_location.php
With the recent trend of beer festivals selling out in minutes (seconds?), i bought tickets to this a few weeks ago. I'm a little concerned with the brewery list (shocktop?!) but there seems to be more than a few quality breweries that are involved so I hope its cool.. I've only been to one other event at Union Station and it was a great night
wow, this SUCKED! I spoke to a few of the people pouring and i guess the beers were picked by the people throwing the event so everything was waaay mainstream. I guess it would have been good if you're brand new to the craft beer thing, but not if you're the type of person who reads beer advocate. Goose did have bottles of BCS, but they were pouring tiny samples and they were shaming people who got in line multiple times. so lame.. Union Station is definitely a cool place for an event, but get better beers next time and kill that DJ, please.. *ugh*
Pipeworks rocked it and GI '10 BCBS and marisol were cool. I didn't get shamed for going back for seconds. Otherwise pretty disappointing. Decided to get as drunk as possible. I think I succeeded. Music was like putting youtube on shuffle. Not so bad, but definitely not worth it at all. Edit: By the way, did anyone see founders? They were on the brewery list but I didn't see their table. Kind of disappointing, but considering the rest of the stuff there I guess they would have brought reds rye and centennial ipa.
