So the Chicago beer hoptacular 2014 is this weekend at the Aragon, anyone going or gone in years past? Whats it like? Worth the price? This was one of the first beer festivals I attended. I've probably outgrown it, but I keep going back out of nostalgia mainly. It's a good place to try some new breweries. You're not going to find any whalez or anything. Last year Goose Island had BCBS. Pipeworks had The Jones Dog. Haymarket had a good lineup. A couple of places were playing around with Randalls. Overall, it's slightly above average as far as beer fests go. It's well run. Lines are reasonable. There's a pretty good lineup of breweries, especially the up-and-comers.
I wasn't expecting much but I went yesterday and it was pretty great. Never a bad day when Goose taps Baudoinia.
