Chicago Brewery Bracket

Really rooting for Noon Whistle! Although if IO was in, I'd have a tough time deciding.

 

Oh yeah Noon Whistle sweet 16!

 

Have a strong feeling it will be Noon Whistle vs Hailstorm for the Suburbs and that the winner may steal the whole show.

 

But does anyone actually think Hailstorm or Noon Whistle are the best breweries in the area?

 

There are no better breweries than these two in all of Lombard and Tinley Park....

 

I'd take Imperial Oak (somewhere in between Lombard and TP) over both of those but The Committee left them out of the tournament. Damn Committee.

 

Looks like the North region got pretty messed up by Half Acre getting upset in the second round. I'm not invalidating Dovetail, but to think that Burnt City is better than Half Acre????

 

I like Imperial Oak, but on a consistency basis I'm ok with them gettimg edged out by Noon Whistle and Hailstorm.

 

Can anyone tell me about Spiteful? Are they out by the airport? Do they distribute? Was sad to see them beat out Gino's. Pineapple Impostor is by far my favorite beer brewed in the Loop/River North area.

And no, not near the airport. They do distribute. Their IPA is solid and they have a sought after barrel aged mexican stout.

Noon Whistle vs Pdubs!

 

Just put in my picks. Let's see who makes the final 2.

 

Spiteful is a block away from Dovetail and Begyle. The don't have a taproom or anything. Their distribution is primarily within the city of Chicago, but some does make it out to the burbs.

They are in the process of building a larger brewery right by Half Acre's Balmoral brewery.

Also, have people really not heard of them? IMO they are one of the better Chicago breweries and they have been around longer than many of the other new ones. For hoppy beers I rank them right up there with Half Acre and PDubs as far as Chicago breweries go, and BA Malevolence Chocolate Caliente won Gold at FOBAB a couple years ago.

 

Lunar Brewing Company in Villa Park. Their Neil Armstrong is released the Friday before Thranksgiving every year. Worth the trip and the bar has a great atmosphere,
