Glad they sound like the have made revisions after last years disaster: http://www.chicagotribune.com/featu...gins-coming-together-20120220,0,2554102.story
What's kind of nice about this concept is that a drinker has a plethora of options so they can sip on some really good brews and not feel entirely left out, unlike a rare beer release. Of course, the really high profile events will sell out and/or be booked within minutes, probably leaving other drinkers out, but alas, those are the breaks. Now if we can somehow convince Chicago to do a whiskey week, then we'd be in business
I'm glad they're getting rid of the bottle cap thing. I didn't do it last year, but every place I went people were ravenous for them and the bartenders had no idea what to do 90% of the time. Not the fault of the beer servers, just a poorly run concept. I just hope this year is focused 100% on the amazing Chicago craft beer scene and not gimmicky at all.
Man, I wanted to stay away from the city for that week with the stupid G8 summit in town . Sounds awesome though
It's only a couple of days that overlap with G8, and there will be events all over the city, not just downtown.
