You can ride the subway unlimited for about $6 for a day pass. If you get lost its not really a big deal since the trains run so often. And if you have a smartphone Google maps does public transit navigation.

 

Chicago native here. Public House in R North has a solid line up. Ill throw in another nod for Haymarket. The Publican is a great place, def dont miss it. A good pub near R North is Clark St Ale house. usually has a good line up of midwest craft and even a hand pull if thats your thing (no food so eat first). but alas, the loop and R North are pretty hit and miss w good beer. your best bet would to be willing to hop on the el or cab to an area w a few good bars. if you need some help getting around shoot me a PM. hope this helps.

Use "Lyft" a ride sharing app for smart phones. "fistbump" will get you $10 free. Much cheaper than cabs
