I was intrigued by the callouts of Honkers Ale around here. I figured it was exaggerated as if I would say that Spotted Cow is exceptionally great. Spotted is fine, but it doesn't light up your eyes when you drink it. Anyway, I grabbed a can of Honkers from Total Wine and fully expected it to be a run-of-the-mill ale, but god damn that's tasty stuff. It's a gem and I never knew!
Yesterday was Super Stout Sunday at the Hopleaf. Plenty of rare barrel aged stouts from around the country still on draft.

Ironically, I couldn't stomach watching the Chiefs 3peat. Good thing I don't gamble as that obviously didn't happen! I had Firestone Walker's Imperial Walker's Reserve, Cycle's DBR, Maplewood's Cuppa Neat Stagg Jr, Resident Culture's Single Barrel Select and Rev's Double Barrel XOD Le Troncais. Is it too own-brand that the Rev was easily my favorite?

Cantillon Gooooooooooze and another beer made with Peppers at Binnys Lakeview, just now. Beer with peppers was $42.99 so no thanks, rego Guuuuuuuze $15.99 for a little bah-bah. Last time I bought any Cantillon just off the shelf was 2011, maybe? Before the dork-pocalypse almost ruined beer. Hope this is a taste of things to come.

This morning I grabbed Ashanti at Lakeview. Gueuze was all gone. Found one of those at LP though and they were $14.99. Pretty cool to find them in the wild. Only other time I've had that experience was in Finland last summer. Thanks for the heads up.

I might go at open for BBT and whatever Trillium haze they had listed. I asked yesterday about shitshow expectations but the employee was newer and wasn’t here for last year
Can't say if this is a "flash drop" or not, but at my local bodega / liquor store, there were two 6 packs of 2022 Anchor Steam's Our Special Ale (aka their Christmas beer). I bought one, there's still one left. Have seen the following beers from Parish Brewing Co. hitting the area. I believe the first time we've seen their beer around here in stores for purchase? Prices seem on the higher side to me (not sure if Binny's will be receiving but see their 4pk prices online as 24.99 and 17.99, respectively). Might look for single of each to try myself.
