Quite honestly, expectations were low...but it produced the first "holy shit!" moment I've had from a new beer in a while. Picked it up on a whim along with their new sour which I haven't tried yet.
Loads of tropical fruit and piney resinous hops with a solid malt backbone. A perfectly balanced DIPA that draws a legitimate comparison to Heady Topper IMO. Will definitely be picking up a couple more bottles.
I feel like this beer will get overlooked by a lot of people due to the brewery's reputation for primarily working with Belgian styles, but don't do yourself that disservice...it's phenomenal.
    Cheers!

Haven't tried Hopsurd yet but they're putting out some interesting stuff. I thought Devil's Reign was a nice spin on a golden strong; big tropical hop flavors and really easy drinking at 9 abv.

I see that Keyport Liquor, in Superior, is doing growler fills of Hopsurd and Shell's Dawn of the Aurora. Hoping they are both still on when I'm up there next week!

Maybe I need to try it again. I had it a few months back and thought it was good, but nothing special.

this batch must be far better. I didn't have the first batch, but this most recent batch is legit. one of the better DIPAs in chicago right now.

This is what I was afraid of. I saw it on the shelf then looked for a bottled on date. When I didn't see one, I passed. Glad I did. Old IPA problems.

Can you share with the class what you didn't like about it? Everyone's palate is different and I always enjoy hearing others' opinions - especially when they differ from my own.

As for on my end...just cracked a third bottle and I completely stand by my OP. All friends I've shared it with have been blown away and It appears the overwhelming majority on Untapped agrees as well.

And to the freshness concerns voiced by some in this thread...that is completely valid, as it is with any brewery that doesn't date their bottles. However, this just hit shelves a week or two ago so it's not really an issue at present.
