Red Arrow prices are relatively very high, IMO. Hopslam for $1.75/oz, for example.

Only a matter of time now...

FT: 2oz sample of super limited release straight from the tap in a ramekin sealed with electrical tape, properly cellared since purchase last week
ISO: big stouts and sourz, vintage Cantillon mags main priority
Seen this get done, just looking for the right set of eyes.

Yay, so now you can wait in line to pour your own [insert hyped, barrel-aged, adjunct stout of the week here]!

Pass. And I live blocks away from where this place will be.

So, I went here tonight and was actually very impressed. Solid beer selection (Une Anee, Like Minds, Pipeworks, Lost Abbey, Firestone, Maine), and the vibe was pretty damn cool. It was nice to be able to try a bunch of different things. Food was solid, ambiance was good, and people were great. It's not going to dethrone Hopleaf/Local Option/etc but is interesting for sure.

Agreed. Looking forward to them opening up soon. https://www.navigatortaproom.com/ There's one already open nearby called Tapster in Wicker Park. I checked it out and wasn't wowed by the selection.

I've been to Red Arrow several times. I like the selection, the ability to sample lots of beers, the staff is friendly and I dig those beer glass washers.

It is spendy but you are not tipping anyone (except maybe yourself) so it does balance out a bit. I'm not 100% convinced this trend is here to stay.

Went a few weeks ago. Don't understand why people wouldn't want to pour their own beer and decide how much of it they want. Especially when the prices are fair and the selection was pretty good!

However, you better not suck at pouring beers. You will eat that cost if you're an over-ambitious pourer!
