Sorry if this has been posted before, but any recommendations for places to visit while in Chicago? Does Pipeworks have a tap room? Also anything accessible by public transportation would be a plus. Thanks in advance!

Vav's on vacation, so I'll be the one to say it: don't miss out on Malort.

Where are you staying? That would help. Chicago is very large

I would hit up Revolution brewpub on Milwaukee first. They have food (which is outstanding) and their beers are awesome. Half Acre has a tap room, no food, although they let you bring food in. If you go to Half Acre you'll be very close to Bad Apple and Fountain Head.

If you're in the loop, you can go straight west and hit Haymarket Brewpub. They have good beers, food is just OK. If you're in this area you can hit Beer Bistro, Jak's Tap, Auchevel.

Other places I would recommend are; Local Option, Piece (awesome pizza and good beer), Map Room, Hop Leaf.

Please note that from the Loop/Downtown area you need to drive or take public transportation to these places. With the exception of Haymarket, which is probably 1.5 mile walk.

Cant go wrong with revolution. Can get a little crowded on weekends/dinner time but well worth it. I think i waited 2 hrs for a table when i was there 2 wknds ago but you can just belly up to the bar. Beer is great (i think they still have straight jacket on tap, but not sure). Food is pretty damn good also and they have some great brews.
