I've been trying a bunch of Oktoberfest and pumpkin beers again and we don't really have space to comment on them in this forum. I thought it would make sense to have a thread where we could talk about different seasonal releases that come and go during the year. Similar to the Chicago Stouts thread but for various styles of beers.

Anyway, some of the better Oktoberfests I've had in the past couple weeks include...
    -Revolution Oktoberfest
    -Victory Festbier

I haven't seen the Sierra Nevada oktoberfest yet but I always like to try theirs. I was actually pretty let down by Pipeworks Oktoberfest after really enjoying most of their lagers.

I'll also add that Nitro Pumking is friggin awesome.

Maybe it's just the smaller shops that I go to that I haven't seen it. I'll have to try a Binnys or something.

I've seen it around at a bunch of places since August. Shouldn't be that hard to find. I was disappointed - it was my least favorite version of the SN collabs.

Most of these have been out for awhile since we are well into October, but you can probably still find them:

Two Brothers Atom Smasher - Unique, little higher ABV, great flavor.

Pollyanna Fruhauf - Award winning and one of the best examples of the style.

Church Street - Itascafest. Traditional, I like it due to price point.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Interesting, I haven't really ever been impressed by a Pollyanna beer but I'll grab some next time I see it.

If you want to get really authentic, there is a bourbon barred aged frauhauf from Pollyanna ...

I'm a big fan of Half Acre's Lager Town. Three Floyd's Munsterfest is enjoyable as well.

Most Trader Joe's have it if you have one near you.

I came in here to post this. My favorite Oktoberfest this year and one of the best of that style I have had. Special mention to Soundgrowler's Wurzburg- Festbier and Tangled Roots Oktoberfest.

Does anyone have good pumpkin beer suggestions? I know they're pretty looked down on for the most part but I do like them.

I really enjoyed the Epic pumpkin porter and barrel aged pumpkin porter last year, so I grabbed one of each this year. They're around now and pretty easy to find.
If you can find it anymore, Buffalo Bills pumpkin oatmeal stout - Black Pumpkin - is one of my all time favorites.

I personally think Schlafly’s Pumpkin is one of the best local takes on a standard pumpkin ale. It’s been a couple years since I’ve had one, but Lakefront’s Imperial Pumpkin (brandy BA) I remember being really good as well.

Anyone see Surly Wet around yet? Was thinking it would hit shelves this week but seems not.

Seriously a sucker for O’Fallons Vanilla Pumpkin ale. I try and pick up 2 6 packs every year since it’s been distributed here.

Yeah, I am as well. Seen Damien cans hitting stores this week but nothing on Wet. If I had to guess, the distributor is being stupid.
