With the end of stout season now opens IPA and pale ale season for most, but for many including myself, I will be searching out sours. Similarly to the Chicago Stour Releases thread, discuss what sours will be arriving soon and what’s already hit shelves. Cheers!

To start things off, 3Floyds Chevalier Bertrand du Guesclin at the kiosk today. $25 750ml. Sound pretty good, and I’ve really enjoyed most of the 3Floyds sours I’ve had.

    I support this thread.

I'm hoping for some fun Off Color 750 releases. And really hoping for another Scratch drop. I bought d the Mum, Rye Kvass, and Spring Tonic to Dark Lord Day. They do good work.

I don't know if there are any left, but the BA Smack This at Noon Whistle was quite good. It was on tap last weekend too.

I did have a pour of this last weekend, it was good but I was hoping for more. I think the cabernet barrel mellowed out the sour finish I was hoping for on the back end.

With the use of extra asterisks, are you trying to say you're afraid this thread would get buried between all of the "First trip to Chicago, please help" threads?

Is Smack This their black sour? I think I had the regular version and really enjoyed it.

On the sour front, Pollyanna has done nice sours before, had their Kiwi Allure and thought it captured the kiwi flavor with just the right amount of tart. Will add other local releases if I see them.

I was actually thinking it looked like the Chicago flag, but that works too lol

I noticed those Pollyanna berliners as well. Would be interested in trying for sure.

Check out Pollyanna's Orenda and A Series of Fortitudes lines. Very different than the Berliner (which was really good) but both have exceptional sour/wild ales in them, especially Orenda Vol 2.

It's gonna be a while on those - they're not brewing any more wild beer at their current location and need to finish building out the new one before they start new projects in that vein.

Aaah gotcha. I must've missed that. That said, if they have beer on oak from the last year or two that's ready to go, I imagine they'd release it.

OP, thoughts on the thread also including brett/funky beer releases or are we going wild/sour only? I support the thread either way but wanted to ask

So glad I follow this forum... just left FFF with four bottles. There is a limit of 2. I had to shoulder tap some biker dude to get me a couple extra! Guy at the window was strict lol
