Chicago/South Loop tasting group

I second the free for all. I will throw some bottles on the sheet after this weekend...

 

Yeah I agree, out of distro/rarities to form a base and we can always sprinkle in some local favorites.

I'll try to grab some stuff from Europe, I'll be in Munich for a few days.

 

Very nice! Hopefully the stuff I am having shipped over from Copenhagen will be here in time!

 

Glad to see that the group is active again! I should be able to come by for a bit. I added some bottles. I'll be in Boston that week so I will try to score something from trillium or tree house to share.

 

The 15th doesn't work for me (in a wedding that day), but I would love to join you all sometime. Live in the South Loop and am fairly regular at Gentile's, as I work down Taylor.

I've been into craft beer for years, but just recently graduated to full fledged obsession. Just posting in hopes you will continue to post future events here.

 

@BSiegs, we always post the tasting events up here. I am also working out an email that will also go out in case people do not check BA as frequently as some of us. Shoot me your email and I will also add you to the spreadsheet so that you can see what people are bringing to each event.

 

So the 15th is a problem at Gentiles now. Dan has to go out of town and it's the Taylor Street Block Party so no one else can take care of us. Two options:

Find another place to have it on the same day.

Move it to the 22nd at Gentiles.

Thoughts?

 

For what it's worth, I'd be able to make the 22nd, but probably not the 15th.

Or, since I won't be around on the 15th, yall could smash a window and have the tasting at my apartment, in my absence.

 

Bummer. The 15th is literally the only weekend that works for me. I'll be in michigan on the 22nd. Hoping we can figure out a new venue...

Edit: I can offer up my place but I'm guessing there's not a lot of interest in you city folks coming out to the burbs (Brookfield).

Hey guys, I would be willing to offer up my place for the 15th share but have to cap it at 10 people as I don't have a ton of space. I have a keg of MOA Imperial Stout (aged in pinot noir barrels) from 13' that needs to be finished off before I move at the end of August and I could use your guys help! I am in Andersonville right off Foster. Let me know what you guys think.

 

The room in my building is booked as well. Still looking for spaces to use on the 15th. I'll keep everyone updated.

My place is also an option, but we will need to cap it at 15ish...

 

I will go where ever or host. Would really like to see this happen...

I have not been able to secure a place for the share, so we are going to move this out to Saturday, September 12th. Sorry for the late notice.

That being said, if you are free and want to organize something smaller, get after it! I'm going to save my bottles for our September tasting. Have a good weekend and remember, only go through the line once...

For those of you I met at past shares who can't make it next weekend, it was great knowing ya and maybe our paths will cross again. If any of you find yourselves in Denver (maybe for GABF), give me a holler.
