My local Jewel definitely doesn't get "a lot", but I usually check there pretty often around this time. They don't have a limit, and I always ask if I can get a case. The answer so far has always been yes, and I definitely stock up for my BA coffee stout fix!

Jewel by me, and a Binny's by me had quite a bit. The Binny's had a 2x 6pack limit, and Jewel didn't have one at all.

I did go to a different Binny's that wanted to charge me 6.99 for one, though, and had a 2 bottle limit. Haha.

This is a random question and not sure this is the right place but whatever, since when does Olde Hickroy brewing distribute to Chicago? I've just started noticing their beers here.

I had one on 8/22 that I purchased within a week of drinking, so, at least for 2 months, but I don't recall ever seeing one before then.

Keeping in the spirit of this thread, it was the Hickory Stick Stout and I didn't like it at all. Harsh, clashing flavors in my opinion.

Trying to decide if I want to buy a couple. Anyone had it? Is it worth me making the trip to the city from the burbs at some point Thanksgiving week/weekend?

I never thought we'd see a saturation point for barrel aged stouts, but my wallet and interest in new stuff is tapped out between Rev and GI.

Agreed, just have so little interest spending $25 on a barrel aged stout from a brewery that is good but not great.

I feel you on this. I'm planning on a full allotment from GI. Then all the Rev stuff that is coming... my wallet is likely empty for BA after those. Lots of $$$ tied up in those. Other than small things here and there, at least. That's why I was curious if anyone had this, and if it's worth the $25 price tag per.

Any word on temperance variety 4 packs? Or more BA fun size? Or miker/more releases? Is this the apocalypse?

Seriously, who usually puts together the release / event calendars around here?

Rev is the only one doing it right, imo. A little at a time, spread out for months.

For what it's worth, I thought Champurrado Krampus from Old Irving (non BA with chiles and shit) was a little thin but really good last year, so I've got high hopes for this. I'm in for a bomber + dinner at that release.

I picked one up. For a $20 (plus taxes/fees) BA stout which spent 11 months in Weller barrels, I'll give that a shot 10 out of 10 times.

The barrels are what have tempted me. Again, still don't know if I wanna drive into the city from the burbs for that though.

I honestly wouldn't put too much stock in the type of barrel (although obviously Weller barrels will at least be quality), but an 11 month-aged stout with cacao nibs and vanilla will always pique my interest if it weights in at 12%.
