i like bomber BA beers. i have no problem crushing a >12% stout all by myself.

 

For anyone in the city, there should be a few bottles of Vlad the 2nd Vanilla (and Coffee) at Bitter Pops. Also, and more importantly, all their beer is 20% off today and tomorrow. I grabbed a bottle of Vlad Vanilla for $16 (regularly $20). There is some other good stuff there currently, so it's worth a look.

 

If it's not world class, I'm not drinking it.

 

Negative. Gone. Said they may have more next week.

Good deal. May have to try on my way out on Saturday since I didn't make it there today.

Thanks to @SeanBond was able to grab one of the last Vlad the 2nd Vanilla at Bitter Pops. Great shop. Still had the coffee too. Also grabbed some more Drago because at 20% off, why not. Also thanks to @croush for being a stand up BA. Onward with a beautiful day in the city...

where at? Chicagoland? haven't heard any place get bottles yet, isn't the Cali release today?

 

Yeah, today was the first day available at FW locations, and it usually doesn't hit IL until 4 weeks or so after. I'm curious to know what @joeyknuckles is talking about as well.

 

The past two years I was able to get it in IL ahead of the FW release date thanks to distributor error. I just haven't looked this year.

 

That's interesting. I've been on top of things in Chicago and the last two years it has been well after the FW release.

Even with getting it early via distributor error, it's still strange for someone to say they're surprised there hasn't been talk about it hitting yet. And, I would love to know where to find it early!

 

Did you make it there today? My afternoon worked out that I was able to stop briefly, and wow am I glad I did.There was more, maybe about 6 bottles when I left about 1pm. They had a pretty fantastic tap list too. ZD, Telehopic, Lunch, SJ Nitro, Madagascar, Dosvidanya Vanilla Rye, etc from what I recall. I went with the Dos myself. Also grabbed a 4 pack of 18 Street Hunter Vanilla, which I'm excited to try. Another big surprise was that they had GI Cooper Project #1. $4.49 per, limit 1. Although looked like limited amount of folks were able to get a 4 pack of it. There was lots of other good stuff, but those were the things that popped for me.

Considering my trip up this weekend started with a pull of Rye on Rye on Rye at Brass Tap in OP on Thursday, and ended with Dos Vanilla Rye at TOB on Sunday afternoon (toss in "stops" at HA, Bitter Pops, Hopleaf, and Forbidden Root in between), and I feel like I've been an overachiever in the last 36 hours

 

Binnys south loop had 4 cases out on the floor Friday afternoon. Had a case of bravo as well
