Greetings from the east coast. I will be visiting Chicago last week April for the very first time. I am not very familiar with what's available in bottles/cans over there since I have never been there before. I would love to be able to bring back home some goodies that aren't available in my area particularly big stouts. Any suggestions on what to keep my eyes open for while I'm out there?

Pipework's, Spiteful, Mikerphone, Half Acre, Revolution, Solemn Oath, Off Color

Anything from the above list will work

I'm sure some folks will be better equipped to say what seasonal releases may be expected at that time, but I think you may have to wait until closer to that time to really know what is going to be available. If people already knew it'd be available next month here in Chicago, they'd be lining up for it. I'm joking...I think.

Mikerphone Stouts. Harder to find, but delicious.

Liquor Park seems to often have a selection

I've found them more easily recently, but they still seem to go pretty quickly when they land.

Revolution Deth's Tar, stouts from Mikerphone and Spiteful - non-ba Pipeworks stouts are nothing noteworthy.

I had end of days before and loved it. Is that easy to find in Chicago stores?

hard to even trade for a bottle these days - definitely not going to be in stores. Anything barrel aged from Pipeworks you will have to line up a trade
    - actually did you have the barrel aged one or the regular. I still see the regular on shelves. Barrel Aged is a ghost

Edit - actually the more I think about it, setting up an IP trade might be the way to go. The higher end stuff (especially barrel aged) gets swooped up very fast in Chicago - it is a crazy beer town. I often refer to it as a contact sport around here...

If you have a hankering for some of the best stouts Chicago has to offer, especially barrel aged then I would plan to do an IP trade. If you are just after non-barrel aged more everyday stuff, then no need - any binnys will have lots from the previously mentioned breweries

If you're still around Saturday April 30, consider Dark Lord Day at Three Floyds in Munster, Indiana. Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 5th at Noon Central.

Hailstorm is a lesser known Chicago area brewery the puts out some very drinkable Stouts.

I had the non BA End Of Days. I wouldn't mind bringing back some of those if possible and available.
