I'm heading to westmont for the weekend from milwaukee and was wondering what bottle shop would be best to visit to get some nice local brews (Navaja, ddc, pipeworks). Also what other beers should I be looking for that would good to bring back. Thanks!!
Prestige Liquors in Westmont always has a great selection https://www.beermenus.com/places/17304-prestige-liquors
FYI, check the canning dates for stuff like Navaja (bottom of the can). I've found that they actually hold up really well for a couple months if refrigerated, but there's no reason to roll the dice if you don't need to, and they have been tweaking it from batch to batch (to perfect it or whatever).
For PW: http://pdubs.net/batch/ Scarlett Betta is your best bet, freshness-wise. All the fish are good, but I'd pick up Lizard King as well, if you haven't had it. It's not as "big" a beer as the fish, but it's the Mosaic equivalent of Zombie Dust, in my opinion, and it's way easier to get (I like it better than ZD, but I also don't worship ZD like a lot of people, so take that with a grain of salt). The above link has the latest batches. Not 100% on Navaja, but the last batch I personally had was 10/21 I think, and that should be the latest (unless one comes out in the next couple days). If you find that, you'll be fine. DDC was just released, so obviously if you see it, it's fresh.
