Hey guys headed to Chicago from NY/NJ area apr 28-30th. I've checked out a bunch of other visiting Chicago threads but want some specific information. First off, best spot to grab bottles near Intercontinental in Mag Mile? Guessing Binny's on Grand? Second, my wife is great, and pretty understanding of my nerdiness, but not a huge beer fan. Can probably get to one beer destination, and it can't be too far out of our way. I was thinking of Revolution since I think we'll be floating around Logan Square area Saturday anyway (cellar Door and Longman & Eagle I think). Also looking for any places around there that jump out as particularly cool beer/wine/cocktail/whatever to hang during out kid-free travel day. No plans Friday but probably hanging closer to hotel and open to similar kinds of suggestions. Any interesting releases that weekend locally?
I'd say Binny's on Grand is your best bet downtown there. You could do the Revolution brewpub, and I'd say that could count as not even being necessarily a "beer destination", as it is known as having good food as well...so it could just be a good spot for lunch that just happens to make their own beer!
