Going to Chicago sept 7th for a little birthday celebration. Planning on going to goose island clyborn, hopleaf, etc. what are some other must see places and where would be a good place central to these places to stay? Thanks for any input, cheers Justin.
I would suggest hitting up Revolution brewery (not the brewpub) and The Beer Temple. Very close to each other and you're bound to find something good.
http://www.longmanandeagle.com/ walking distance to revolution, short drive to beer temple, half acre, hopleaf and goose clybourn plus you can make a reservation at the restaurant, which is outstanding and has a solid beer list.
Is it pretty nice? Not familiar with Chicago. Just looking for a clean place to stay really, in a decent neighborhood. Web site looks legit. Cheers
it's definitely clean. hipster fab is how i would describe it. in logan square/avondale. close to several other restaurants and bars. good alternative to downtown.
perfect thats what i want, did the down town thing once got kinda $$$ and this is a trip basically dedicated to good beer and food. so that should work well thanks alot.
i don't know much about it but theres: http://www.rubyroom.com/ its in wicker park. also lots of great places there to hit up.
If you use facebook, they'll announce last minute cancellations there. I think it would be a worthwhile to keeping trying for a room at L&E since, as stated, they're very nice and it puts you in a fun spot to enjoy lots of different beer-focused bars (and L&E has a small but solid draft list). If you're traveling with someone else, though, don't expect any privacy when using the en suite bathrooms (take a close look at the pictures online - you'll see what I mean). Wicker Park also has this B&B: http://twourns.com/ . I don't know much about it but I do walk by it every day and it seems well maintained and popular.
