So you cant imagine my joy when i casually throw out driving an hour out of chicago to visit FFF to the significant other and she is ON BOARD! Either way, can any locals in the chicago beer scene point me towards any local/limited release stuff to seek out in the chicago area? So far i just have anything from Pipeworks on the list.

Um, they're visiting Chicago from California. I don't know about you, but I would stick with stuff I can't get, oh, I don't know...at home.
Without traffic, should only be about 30 to 40 minutes tops. Pick up some Off Color Brewing. They only have 2 year round beers, Troublesome (Gose) GREAT for this weather and Scurry (Altbier) also pretty good. Current limited release is Apex Predator, an excellent Saison and fairly priced too, 8.99 a four pack.
