You should put up an ISO list so this isn't viewed as an auction.

Who views these as auctions? He isn't slinging whalezbro, and obviously not looking for them.

This discussion happened very recently in the main trade forum with M-43.

OP - no need to change what your post.

Lots of people view posts like these as auctions. Reason being is that there isn't any transparency within the community & it potentially leads to the question, "if you're not ISO what I'm offering, then what are you ISO?" Everyone who trades has an idea of what they're looking for. So if someone makes a vague post (such as this) whale or not, it still seems like an auction.

Lots of people make these post when they want to try something new or interesting, without any particular idea. I'm baffled people take that stance with non-whale posts. Makes no sense to me.

Because again, it removes the transparency from the community. It doesn't have to be a whale to be considered a trade auction. Even to say, "something that I haven't tried" is equally as ridiculous since pretty much no one knows what said person had tried or hasn't tried. That's why when making a trade post, people have an idea of what they're looking for. If you remove your ISO list & replace it with a vague, "NE hops" or "BA stouts" you're leaving yourself open to dozens of messages with beer that'll most likely be turned down & it's an all around waste of everyone's time.

At the end of the day, it's easier on everyone if people would list what they have & what they want.
