Really makes me wish I had made the trip over there when I was down in Madison, for work last week.

Imperial Oak Taproom Pilsner. Just west in Lemont.

100% Bohemian Pilsner Malt and Czech Saaz hops. All day long drinkable. Great brews in general.

You there for the BA Lord Humongous release? Do they still have bottles - I thought about stoping in later tonight to see if any were left.

Based on that picture he's at Pollyanna not Imperial Oak.

Yep, you're right those are Pollyanna tap handles - the funny thing is he was at imperial oak for the release, just not in that pic ... :grinning:

I was there. I can't help about availability, sorry. It was very relaxed at 1 pm, but I didn't ask about what was left. Go anyway, it's all good there. Cheers.

Yeah, I screwed up the location. Second stop was Pollyanna.

A lot of chill haze? Or is that just condensation on the glass? It looks like a NEIPA in the picture.

A little bit of all of that. I was surprised by the cloudiness, but it is no IPA.

More of a very cloudy Kellerbier, but I have never had a Pilsner even close to that in Germany.

I know this is resurrecting an old thread, but Urban Chestnut Zwickel is on sale at binnys for $6.99/4-pack of tall boys. It's a great beer, and one that could definitely be put away to drink all fall.

    Krombacher 6pack cans are a great deal. 6 500mL cans for 9.99.

We are about to enter Oktoberfest season so i'll be interested to hear everyones favorites

Unless if it's from last spring, I'm fine with a lager with some age on it.

Shit, anything we get from overseas probably has a couple months on it to begin with.

Its roughly a month old - so pretty darn fresh. Also, Ill plug their stammtisch which is their german pilsner and is also on sale this month - such a good beer!

Seemingly all german made lagers (and most other styles) have a 1 year shelf life. And i've almost never had anything that tasted old from weihenstephaner.

Most american lagers around here have about 120 - 180 days before i deem it to old to purchase. Just my opinion of course. I don't know why beers like Krombacher and Weihenstephaner are so much more stable that most american beer. But in my experience, they certainly are

I have now seen this Lake Brothers lager start to pop up in Chicago, grabbed a sixer, seems like it could be a reliable everydayer

Also like what Dovetail has been doing.

It appears that Metropolitan has finally opened their tap room this week. Looking forward to checking it out.
