I'll second this. Their whole setup is awesome. Plus the baseball Hall of Fame is 5 miles away...

I'm not extremely well versed in the style but I definitely have tried and enjoy Saisons. I'm not saying that the beers taste exactly like something from Belgium, but there's an up front flavor and the closest thing I can think of that matches it is something like a Belgian pale.

So First Bloom from Ram is actually pretty damn good. I was not a fan of Fizzy Bubbly at all, but this offering is legit! I only planned on having one glass, but I'm leaving with a growler - I highly recommend it.

Speaking of saisons, Trinity Brewing in Colorado has some of the best I've had. They get over-shadowed by Crooked Stave, but they do a great job

To my palate (and many others) there is a belgian yeast quality/flavor to many of Hop Butcher's recent IPAs that resembles that of your average saison.

No one is comparing Hop Butcher's IPAs to world class saisons.

I guess I was more triggered when somebody said Mikerphone's stuff tasted belgiany. Carry on

I dunno man, I guess it's just me, but there's some flavor I noticed on LBI, Cats and RTS that I don't get in any other NEIPAs I try. It reminds me of what I tasted when I tried that second batch of Galaxy Bowl, but maybe I'm crazy.

More importantly, go buy a bottle of Saison Du Pont! You need to rectify that immediately.

Having a liver and not putting it to use with a Belgian saison is basically spitting in God's/nature's face.

The consensus seems to be those flavors are coming from Nelson hops and he's been making so many beers with those hops so far (including today).

This. The first time I got that flavor from HB was with Mellotron - which was hopped with Nelson. The only Mikerphone offering that I got it from was Rockin The Suburbs, and I didn't care for that one. Everything else Mike has produced has been top notch

Kinda funny that there's only 16 checkins so far with all of this talk, and a couple were repeats.

I also got that Belgiany vibe in Hop Butcher's Reply Hazy though and I didn't think that used Nelson? I have a feeling that it is somehow the yeast but what do I know, the only homebrew I ever made came out like cat piss vinegar.

I have had a lot of NE-style beers with Nelson hops (DDH Stillings, Stillings, Bright w/Nelson, etc.) and I never got that flavor on any of those.

I also got it on Galaxy Bowl batch 2, which is clearly Galaxy-hopped.

Haven't been over here in a while!

I'm really excited to grab that new Mikerphone today.

Squeezeit I thought was really good, still not as good for me as a few of the Noon Whistle Gummies, but a lot better than some of the recent Mikerphone stuff.

Hoping to get back out to try that Salute Your Simcoe soon.

A more accurate thing would've been for me to say that it has been the case with each of the Mikerphone beers that used Nelson hops as opposed to being because of the Nelson hops. Obviously it could be the yeast. I also experienced that issue with Galaxy Bowl Batch 2 and another of the HB beers.

We all have opinions which I love. But to me Squeeze it crushes every gummy by far
