Don't sleep on that Gummypocalypse. No adjuncts buy really solid base NEIPA

Agreed. Also don't sleep on insufficient clearance. Got a 12oz cause I'm a fan of sketchbook and it's one of the better ones I've had tonight.

I live right by Sketchbook, so of course their NE IPA is only at Forbidden Root!

Loving Van Hazen, but I'm a sucker for Motueka hops.

So, cans of Snoochie Boochies in two weeks. Am I right that this their first time canning it?

So the Gummy Apocalypse at Noon Whistle is 8.2%. What's the difference?

I don't need play by play, but I expect a detailed synopsis on my desk by 8am.

I'm glad the reservation could be used by a BA'er.

Something wrong with the Hubbard's Cave keg? Our group all agrees that it ain't right. Way too malty. Sad.

This lineup disappoints. Stay lit and check 1 2 are by far the stars of the show

As I watched gallons of glorious juice pour at FR tonight, i can't be but more excited about the future of the Chicago NEIPA scene. Check 1,2 was the king tonight, with Van Hazen / Stay Lit close behind. Marz = surprise of the night?! Noonwhistle = i need more than just a good base, where's the fruiiiiiit flavor?

Check 1,2 was my favorite, and I really enjoyed Snoochie (would've liked it more if it weren't my third beer, and after a burger). Gummy Apoc was good but muted, and of course Van Hazen didn't disappoint.

Great event by FR, and a great IDEA for an event. I'd argue that a lot of NE IPAs are pretty similar, but this event also gives you an idea just how varied they can be, and how superior some turn out.

So I had Gummy (my first gummy), Stay Lit, and Check 1,2, and Snoochie. Stay lit was straight pineapple juice, but still enjoyable. Check was very good, but very heavy, thick, sweet. Couldn't imagine drinking more than a glass. Gummy was not good at all imo. No bitterness whatsoever. I expected more from what people say on here. But I prefer more bitterness in my NEIPAs, so I'm an outlier on here. The new batch of Snoochie was my favorite of the evening. Much better than the last 2 batches I've had. But nothing I had compared to Squeezeit (for Chicagoland), and its not close.

Had the tighthead ad sketchbook tonight. Both were good but had a little more bitterness than I'd expect from the style.

Decided to bite the bullet and grab a four pack of Zero Discipline. Nice beer but not at all worth the price tag with the offerings we're getting now.
