Just as a side note, places around here don't really do NEIPA can releases as often as they do at places like Tree House, Trillium, etc. Weekly releases are not even really a thing. There are some to be found on shelves, but it is not like they're exactly plentiful. Draft is where you will find most, and crowlers will likely be your main take-home unless you are here at a lucky time.

That’s been true for sure. We’re in a groove of regular releases for More, Hubbard’s Cave, and even Hop Butcher. But yeah you’re right, not like one new one a day yet

Around here we don't make beer forhoarding, or showing off, or hype bragging, Around here we make beer for what it was intended- drinking. So you won't find a regular can release, but you will find a brilliant collection of local watering holes with great beer on draft and if you ask nicely they may just put it in a crowler for you to take a little sample out of our little paradise....

Centinnial Craft and Eatery in River North is very good. Also Forbidden Root/Bangers & Lace aren't too far from you. Revolution Brewing is also on the west side. If you want to try some stuff further north, you have Corridor Brewing/Half Acre/ Dovetail/Begyle all within a mile of each other. Do some light googling to see if they are close enough for you. Honestly just uber to these places and walk or use public transportation. Chicago is v. accessible this way.

Some of you might remember a year or so I was super excited about Hubbard’s Caves IPA program. We had all talked about the inconsistencies and whatnot and I expected immediate improvement after the news of a new centrifuge.

Since then, I felt like they were learning from batch to batch. Some sweet, some dirty, some oxidized.

Well I’ve had a few cans of v15 and v8 over the last few days and I think they have found it.

If you haven’t bought a 4 pack of fresh iipa lately, do yourself a favor and revisit it.

You know, I can't really think of any haze in IL I'd take over King of Borgs.

I don't mean to sound like a homer, but we are getting spoiled here! Taking into account Forbidden Root and Corridor, and then now that Hop Butcher is completely nailing their beers (I think Tavern Cut is one of the best NE IPAs in the city hands down and on the top tier level), Hubbard's Cave are nailing it with every can release, Saint Errant in cans, and now Pipeworks doing cans of these, King Sue cans hopefully arriving next week, it's getting insane. My fridge has so much beer and I'm not complaining about it. In general I like to try a lot of new stuff that I have never had previously, and sometimes I end up with a four pack where I'm just like oh ok, I guess I'll drink it. But right now I am crazy about every single thing I have in the fridge. It's awesome.

went to the cubs game yesterday, swung by lucky door and got to try cubbie gummy. i thought it was fantastic, have never been able to get to noonwhistle and try it. dude said they are about to brew a fresh batch.

haze crusade was a nice treat and unexpected, cosmic juicebox is as good as ever. corridor puts out a killer pepperoni pizza too.

I'll add my voice to the chorus here...had VERY low expectations on this one as I've never been a big Penrose fan, but this was above average; nice strawberry & faint pineapple notes with a dry wheat-like finish that wasn't too bitter. I'll seek this one out again...

I bought a new, much larger fridge last summer. It helped, to an extent.

I have been following this thread for a while but it’s hard to find beers I can have someone pick up (binnys in Plainfield) for me. I search for beers that show up as cans but not much shows up on the app. In the last few months I was able to get some hailstorm cirrus which I loved but that was about it. Any recommendations for NE IPAs I can get at binnys Plainfield?

Brickstone Haz’D Juice launch is this Friday. Open Bottle has an event scheduled and beer cellar has been talking about it for a few weeks.

I think the Noon Whistle Gummy series should be available in some capacity. And while not strictly NE, a decent amount of Toppling Goliath beers (PseudoSue and especially DDH PS) will probably scratch that itch for you.

    Hey Everyone,

So! Corridor is in a bit of a transition process. Roger is joining the brewery team at Maplewood. We wish him nothing but the best and thank him for everything he has done for Corridor this past year. Eric Padilla who brewed with Roger at Corridor as his assistant brewer and as head brewer at DryHop has accepted the head brewer’s job at Corridor. We have all the confidence that he will keep Corridor’s haze train on the tracks and full steam ahead. We invite you to join us on Friday, 6/13 to wish Roger bon voyage and welcome Eric back to the Corridor family. We will be tapping SqueezIt for the night along with a few surprises. This batch of SqueezIt was brewed by both Eric and Roger at the controls, and we think it’s one of the best. You guys keep enjoying the haze and we’ll keep rockin’ and rollin’, cheers.
