    So? GB or Mellatron?

I didn't get anything like that from Hoppy Days - I thought it was a decent IPA, no more no less. Mad Flavor - That was some pickle juice.
Got some Mellotron, hopefully trying tonight.

Both equally as good. I'd give a slight edge to GB myself but I think that's entirely preference.

I'm in the minority here, but I wasn't a fan of GB batch 2 (didn't have b1). It tasted more like pineapple/mango juice than an IPA. However, Mellotron is excellent imo.

Hoppy days was great. Maybe not the most fruit forward IPA out there but what's wrong w that? I thought it was as good as GB, which sorta was a flat boring one noted fruit juice. Hardly an IPA.

Drinking a Mellotron now, and definitely don't think it's as good as either batch of Galaxy Bowl. I might prefer Hoppy Days to it as well.

Does Mellotron have the same low carb and kind of homebrewy "Belgian style" yeast esters thing going on?

Tried a mellotron. I wish I had a side by side to do with galaxy bowl, but I have GB batch 1 with a slight edge. I feel like there were tastier tropical notes and peach. Second GB to me was just lacking on those notes compared to the first. I'd stick Mellotron in between the two. Honestly, to me they are all pretty close in taste.

Can't help but notice Pipeworks touting how extra "juicy" the new Citra DIPA is...could it be? Finally they relent?

It is possible to have a beer taste "juicy" and not be an "NE Style" IPA. Crazy, I know.

No joke, this confused the shit out of me for quite a while. I've had plenty of IPAs which I thought were juicy, so when people started constantly referring to the NE stuff as "juicy" (almost exclusively), I started wondering, "do I not know what juice tastes like?"

Nowadays I try to differentiate between "juicy" and "fruit juice-like," the latter of which I think is closer to a differentiator for NE IPAs (i.e. GB tasting like pineapple juice vs. a citra-hopped beer tasting very juicy in a citrusy manner).

What can I say, I'd love for them to try their hand at the style.

    I can dream, dammit.

I asked @NOTpipeworks about the NEIPA style in the pipeworks thread. It sounds like Beejay at PW likes the idea, but a release of the style seems far off. Post #4737 in the pipeworks thread
