I'm gonna second what everyone else said. Space Ghost is the best chili stout I've ever had. It's often overlooked and surprisingly easy to trade for as well.

HF Madness & Civilization #4 is BBA with Cocoa, Chipotle, and Ancho. May not be as prominent a chile flavor you're wanting but damn good nonetheless. If you're into trading it could be one to keep on the lookout for.

Clown Shoes Chocolate Sombrero has Ancho chile. It is super low on heat, though.

Believe it or not (I didn't), there is a very good one in Belgium -- from brewer very receptive to outside influence: Alvinne. Probably a tough find but I mention it as ratification that the idea has currency. It's quite balanced and restrained, with the heat accumulating slowly and elongating flavors -- which is what chili should do.

As for the Stone beers, I thought Crime was very good; on the hotter side but not too bad. Really nice ghost pepper flavors, which are hard to get that prominent without the ridiculous heat that they usually bring. I wasn't as big a fan of Punishment, a little too hot (alcohol-wise) and spicy without enough pepper Flavor.

Birdsong, of Charlotte, N.C., has a Mexicali Stout. They also do a very fine Jalapeno Pale Ale, which unlike other chile beers tastes like a good pale ale, but with a little spice added. Well done and very creative incorporation of unique ingredients. They don't bottle however :slight_frown:

I also have to give my vote for Space Ghost as far as a straight forward Chile Stout goes.I thought the heat and earthiness of the peppers was perfect.

It isnt a stout but fire and blood, the game of thrones beer from Ommegang, is a chili infused Belgian ale and its pretty good.

Bootleggers in CA makes Black Phoenix, a coffee stout with Chipotle peppers added, really good.

I have a bottle of Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti in my cellar - says on the bottle they use cayenne, definitely on the more subtle side though

Mexican Cake is not that hot. The heat is certainly prominent, but not so much that it kills the other great components. In terms of a comparison, it has More peppery heat than Huna. I have not tried the others you listed in that post.

I want to second the Clown Shoes shout out too. Luchador is a highly overlooked IMO. Cant believe a stout of that quality just sits on the shelves year round and no one ever talks about it.

Birrificio del Ducato makes a chili stout called Verdi Imperial Stout, and it's pretty tasty. It's the base beer for My Blueberry Nightmare, however, and that beer is apparently atrocious beyond belief.

Doesn't have the "rare" factor like most of the beers people are trowing out, but GD Chocolate Oak-Aged Yeti is the balls.

I bought my first bottle of Bible Belt at a major craft beer shop around Indy and was then surprised to see it on the shelves of a modest liquor store a week later. Keep your eyes open, it can pop up in places you wouldn't expect.

Seems to be a pretty divisive beer for sure, I've talked to people who've both loved and hated it.
