New Holland Dragons Milk Reserve. Good stuff. Initially this style sounded repulsing bu this was actually a damn good beer.

Did huna, Mexican cake, abraxas, and bomb. I think for overall chile presence you gotta give it to Copper Kettle Mexican Chocolate stout. Had a couple friends bitching it was too hot.

    Edit: isn't dragons milk BA?

So, how would you rate Huna, MC, Abraxas, and Bomb? I've only had Bomb, and though I thought it quite tasty, I thought the chile presence was minimal (too much so for my tastes).

    3. bomb

This isn't for chile presence though. Strickly personal faves. The first 3 are just more complex. If you want chile presence though...
    MCS
    Huna
    Abrax
    Bomb!
I didn't know there were chiles in bomb and am still convinced its a typo.

Also, this was not at a side by side tasting and looking back at my first post it may seem like it was... oops.

Space Ghost from Central Waters is hands down my favorite.

It is, and I missed that part of the post, I just saw the headline and skimmed the post to be honest. That non BA part did not compute. That does not mean that its not worthy of a mention and is reasonable in price and not all that difficult to obtain. Also, I think Mexican Cake is aged as well. http://westbrookbrewing.com/beer/anniversary/mexican-cake/

It seems like OP's picks represent the highly sought-after and highly-rated chile beers, so my suggestion may not fit. However, Indra Kunindra is a one-of-a-kind spicy brew. I enjoyed it, though it's not going to change your life.

Mexican Cake, well that beer did change my life. Or at least have me obsessing to find other chile stouts.

Modern Romance by Midnight Sun Brewing was pretty good.

Twisted Pine should make a porter version of their Ghost Face Killah, and they should call it "Black Face Killah".

    Wait...

This! I traded for a bottle and my first thought after my first sip was "Holy Hot!"

You can't leave out Space Ghost and Catherine's Resentment if you want heat. I love the chili presence and the heat and here's my ranking based on overall enjoyment (not just heat):

    1) Mexican Cake / Bomb! batch 1 - (newer batches of Bomb! would be tied with Bible Belt)
    2) Space Ghost (second by a very slim margin)
    3) Catherine's Resentment
    4) Bible Belt / Bomb recent batches
    5) Huna
    6) Abraxas

I have MCS at home and will rate soon. Huna and Abraxas are certainly "better beers" than I have them ranked in terms of complexity, but they are both too sweet for me in comparison to those listed. Abraxas, being more heavily flavored with cinnamon, doesn't have the spice heavy enough to offset the sweetness IMO. Again, it's just my own opinion as I just can't enjoy the sweetness from Huna and Abraxas like some.

It's not barrel aged though, like Dragon's Milk is. It's just aged on those various spices and adjuncts to make them give off a fuller flavor.

There are excellent barrel-aged versions of Mexican Cake, however, but the regular is not.

Also, Dry Dock has (on tap) Capt Howdy, a whiskey barrel aged chile stout that is pretty tasty. Nabbed a growler today.
