At first glance I thought they were solar stake lights, like the ones people use in their yards. I'm overwhelmed by gadgets and prefer old school methods when possible. But to each his own.......
if you can be prepared with a cold metal spike, can't you be just as prepared with a cold bottle of beer? is this to keep the beer cold longer? if so, this is a solution looking for a problem. and who wants to put a cold steel plate on their face anyway? reminds me of marching band in December. God Bless America, but i feel bad for the men that will get this junk on Fathers Day.
Absurd. Next up: Coors Light cans with embedded ice packs. You'll never have to taste your beer again!
I was given a set of these by my girlfriend for my birthday this past weekend, and was skeptical but pulled a bottle from the cellar to try it out after leaving them in the freezer overnight. They are worthless.
I have a set and love them. They are NOT intended to chill a room temp beer, but to keep a cold beer cold for longer. They work really well if you like to nurse your beer.
I got a set as a gift last Christmas & just got around to using it for the first time. We've had the AC off for a few weeks to cut the electric bill down & I knew I wasn't going to be chugging my drink so I figured what the hell... it's doing a pretty good job at keeping it cool in a mid-80s degree house (been open for about half an hour now) - but I do have to say that my beer basically turned into a mini volcano when I first put it in. I don't know if I hadn't drank enough out yet or what, but it took it a while for the foam to die down. I still don't picture myself using it too much, but it's working better than I expected it to?
I got a set for Christmas and they are still in the box . The giver had good intentions but I doubt I'll ever use them.
