Greetings all. I have recently began getting into imperial stouts and cellarable styles. One of our local bottle shops has a pretty good selection of bombers, including Yeti and some of its variants. I picked up a bottle of the Chocolate Oak Aged (the silver foil one) a few weeks ago. It has a bottle on date of May something, 2016. Is this something I should be drinking soon, okay to sit a month or two, or should have passed on? The store is air conditioned year round and the shelf it was on is fairly dark with no direct sunlight ever.

Should still be good, wouldn't sit on it to much longer though. Most adjunct stouts I've found to be best under 2 years, with 6 months to a year being the best. I haven't had that specific variant though.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the response. I have heard that some adjuncts (vanilla, coffee, some fruits) will fade after time. Guess I better get it chilling!

It's a great beer fresh. You'll probably lose some heat at this point, the chile is subtle to begin with, six months probably killed it.
