I used (8?) oz of PB2 in a clone of Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout. It took 5 months go get decent, but not great. I wish I hadn't and I wish I made a bigger beer with more PB2 in it.

I make a Chocolate PB porter that is pretty dang good. PB flavor is a background, but has a sweet nutty roasted note to it.

I'd venture to say you'd need no less than 1 pound of it. I'd use it in secondary myself, mix it with a little beer and rack on it.

I'd skip the trying to de-oil your own. The powder stuff is pretty good, and it's natural and easier to use for beer.

I used a pound of the powdered PB, as that's what was recommended in the Chocolate Covered Beavr Nutz kit. I thought the PB was rather hidden behind such a big brew. I think I'd do the same amount of PB and cocoa nibs in a much smaller English style porter.
