So today I stopped into Provisions to pick up my allotment of Chocolate Rain and the allotments for 7 people that I trustee for. While we were packing everything up the lady helping me put in 2 extra Chocolate Rain in place of Chocosaurus Rye. After noticing what she did I thought about it for a second before I told her the mistake that she made and had her switch out the 2 Chocolate Rain. So my question is did I do the right thing or am I just an idiot for saying something. Also if presented with this situation what would you do?

    Cheers

Morally, you did the right thing. Good job. Had you not said anything, your greed could have got her into trouble.

You did the right thing, although not an easy one. Karma will pay you back.

If the majority says you did the wrong thing, are you going to go back and demand those two bottles? Do you want someone to send you a prize because you're an ethical person? Just not sure what the point of this thread is.

I started this so that I could pat myself on the back in front of you with the hopes that all the awesome BA's out there would send me cash and prizes.

i won't lie, it makes me a little sad that this question has to be asked, and that it comes up so often.

I say you did the right thing, but that's just me. I recently gave a store clerk back money when he gave me one 5 dollar bill too many with my change. The way I look at it- hey, don't give Karma a reason to fuck your shit up.

The Reserve Society membership includes a Chocolate Rain, right? And the max allocation was 2. Did they give you three total bottles or just the two you bought? My proxy will be going next week to pick my stuff up and I'm just wondering so that she doesn't think if there's a third bottle that it's for her...

You get a total of 3 bottles the initiation bottle and the 2 you purchased. I was picking up 24 bottles and instead she gave me 26

No-brainer, you did the right thing. While I'm sure The Bruery holds some extra bottles back, just think that could have been somebody else's 2 bottles from their allocation that they might have missed out on.

How do you know you won't like Chocosaurus Rye more than Choc Rain?

If i notice during the transaction, I speak up and have it corrected.
If I'm already at home, I'm not gonna drive back or call them and tell 'em what happened.

I've had this happen 3 times, where they tried to give me orders I had already picked up. Then I had a big order to pick up, I think it was a mix to total 9 cases between all of it. When I got home and sorted it out, I had 7 extra beers, 2 being Oui Oui some Filmishmish and Sour in the Rye. I sent them an email and brought them back when I could (I live in SD).
I wouldn't think of doing anything else. However when I brought the beers back, it was around Sucaba time and I asked if they got any in. The girl working admitted they had received it but told me she couldn't sell it to me yet. Needless to say I was pretty disappointed to hear this given the fact that I just returned over $100 in beer they gave me on accident and now they wouldn't let me buy a beer that they had.
Makes me wonder how many shady people have made off with beer from them given how many times it has happened to me and now OP.

Honesty in every occassion. I went to Churchkey a few weeks back and ordered a few beers. The check arrived and I noted to the bartender that they didn't charge me for 1 beer. The bartender was awesome and gave me an 'honesty' discount. I felt good for being honest, saved a few bucks in the process and nobody got in trouble. Win, win.
