Is Chocolate Rain for Black note a fair trade straight up?

Also what are your thoughts on CBH plus Ivan for Chocolate Rain even? What if a GI BCBS bomber 09 is thrown in with the Ivan and CBH too uneven from this side?

Technically, it is fair-ish. I would personally never trade away a Chocolate Rain for Black Note. Actually, I would never trade fr one period. It's not very impressive.

It seems like you're ISO CR, and I think a black note will get it done (although you might need to even up $4$ depending on the person).

Like aasher I wouldn't do this as I have 0 interest in Black Note and love CR, but I bet someone would.

This is exactly what I felt! Chocolate Rain is amazing! Black note is the biggest craft beer let down in the last 3 year I have been drinking craft beer.

I traded a Chocolate Rain for a Black Note to regular trading buddy. I don't think I would necessarily do this trade from either side.

The two beers are so different. Black Note is refined, balanced, nuanced with soft texture. It's like a Mercedes Benz S-class of stouts. Chocolate Rain is very sweet, aggressively flavored with chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon, lots of alcohol burn, and so brash. It's a Nissan GT-R. They are completely different beers and a direct comparison is not really fair

Have yet to open any of my 2 bottles of Chocolate Rain, however, I have had black note, and it doesn't come close to the hype IMO. It was good, don't get me wrong, but just isn't worth what people are trading for it, and isn't worth the reviews that people are giving it (although people are entitled to their own review scores).
