The emails we got stated that this is not a membership, just entrance for a one-off dinner with crazy vertical tastings and a bottle to take home.

The plastic card I got that has an expiration date of 12/15 suggests otherwise.

Which would be a little frustrating for people that chose not to "enroll" due to a conflict on the given day based on the explicit email confirmation that it was a 1 time thing.

I can see both sides of this for Fremont - is it good to "surprise" their supporters with some extra benefits down the road? Sure, sounds generous. Or should you commit to what you told people and not frustrate those that made a decision based on your communications?

IMHO, seems the right path is to just make the event really awesome so people feel good about the $85 but don't turn it into an extended thing and make people that opted out for any reason feel like they were duped.

Eh, if you decided not to show up you really can't complain. If the shoe was on the other foot I wouldn't.

I'm not really "complaining" ... but if someone says "this is not an ongoing club" and then it's an ongoing club, that's odd. If you're a fan and a big supporter - which I am - and you have a conflict on the 7th - which I do - then there's a pretty compelling reason to not show up for a one time thing happening on the 7th though you'd be chomping at the bit to sign up for an ongoing thing.

It doesn't seem unreasonable to me to expect an accurate depiction of what you're choosing to buy / not buy. Whatever happens, I'm not going to storm the internets with virtual pitchforks, stage a temper tantrum / sit-in at the UBG, or vow to only drink Elysian in protest ... but I'd wonder what the point of misleading folks was.

Maybe there'll be other events that are open to more than 75, but those with memberships are guaranteed something? #completespeculation

I don't expect any ongoing benefit out of this - i assume the date wasn't meant to be symbolic of anything. I do have complete trust that Fremont will throw an incredible event though, which is why there was no way I was missing it.

The date was simply an oversight in reflection. That's it. One time event...we may send out an email to the HHC members from time to time this year to come in for a cool beer but that's it. We are losing money on this thing and just want to do something fun but don't feel duped...its a one time event. Hopefully there will be more. We are working on figuring out how to do cool events that are inclusive.

Food was absolutely top-notch. I didn't take the idea that it was catered by Ethan Stowell to literally mean he would be there, making all of the food. Assuming you like the taste of dead animals (i sure do), you didn't leave hungry.

B-bomb vertical was cool. Some really good things on tap, though there were some things I was expecting that didn't show up on the list. I forgot how good those dry fly bbombs from a few years ago were.

Capping the event at 75 people was perfect. Wouldn't miss one of these in the future...

Even without the beer, that in itself would be worth the price of admission.
