Christmas beers 2013/ New Year 2014

Curently have ST 2X Mas, GL Christmas Ale, St Bernardus Christmas Ale, Anchor.....wait for it....Christmas Ale, SN Celebration and one of my local favs that I think is very under rated Sweetwater Festive Ale

 

B&Ms here have Hooky 12 Days. Morrisons have Bah Humbug and Rosey Nosey.

 

I've just become aware of a new beer shop relatively local to me, Hippo Beers. They've got some stock of Erdinger "Snow white". Whilst Erdinger is generally shite, this is a pretty decent brew. Will be buying a few.

 

Hippo is a great shop.

I agree that regular Erdinger is pretty bland, but look out for the “Ur-Weisse” which I think is a very good beer.

I always try to get some Gordon Xmas at, er, Xmas. I like the kitschy label.

Williams Bros Nollaig is another which has become a Christmas tradition.

 

Same old same old here so far. Stay tuned.

 

So far I've picked up BBF's Bristletoe and Hop Studio's Noel.

I'm sure there'll be a few more to come, though I'm going to steer clear of dross that I've tried in previous years....

 

I've had the UR-Weisse, and I can prove it!



It was in a crazy bar/pub in Manchester that had an utterly ridiculous range of beers. I have never seen it for sale anywhere else though.

 

B&Ms now have Wentworth Snowmans Revenge and some Thwaites' muck Let......something or other.
...It Taste Of Something? Surely not.

Was in Tesco earlier and came across St. Peter's Christmas Ale (though without a shelf sticker so I'm not sure if it was an accident). A 7% brew from a decent brewery, and it's in the 4 for £5 offer....

 

Yeah, I took a chance and grabbed two. Thought that it might cause trouble when I got to the till, but the offer got applied without any problem. (really hate it when you check out and a deal you were expecting doesn't get applied - then you've got to go get a replacement).
