Christmas in July

    So, since it is that time of the year - are any of your bars breaking out the Christmas Ales? We have the St Bernardus Christmas and Hardywood GBS being tapped this evening. Is this occurring in your area?

    Really wow, no the only bars/pubs I go to anymore are micro brewery tasting rooms. Or this 1 beach bar for happy hour Blue moon pints for $2.50, its a full bar, not a beer bar(6 to 8 taps max). Heck I am not a big fan of Xmas beers at that time anyway..

    Couple places around me have gl Christmas and thirsty dog Christmas ale on tap.

    I believe I read that the Blind Tiger in NYC was having Christmas in July last night [Wed. 7/24]. And if I'm not mistaken, SN Celebration was one of the beers that was being tapped. Anybody go to this? Anybody have some Celebration and if so, how was it?

    I was hoping they had a keg of the BB GBS so I could see how/if it has changed - I think I have a bottle of the SN Celebration with my GI X-mas - if so I will let you know how it is drinking.

    i was at the blind tiger last night for the "christmas in july" night, it was jammed, great atmosphere and beer list, sadly only got 1 drink in and i had to go

    Some of the local bars and pubs around me are having Christmas in July and bringing out Troeggs Mad Elf and Fegleys Rude Elf.

    I went and had 2 pints of it. Still tasted amazing and was still pretty hoppy. Can't wait for it to come around again....it was a nice treat.

    I wished I could have gone but I'm going down to NYC tomorrow. Good to know that it was still good. And I can't wait until it comes around as well.

    My local pub has several Christmas beers on tap for Christmas in July, most notably (and best) Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale.

    They can call it whatever they want, but if Nogne O Winter Ale is on tap they have my attention (regardless of season).

    the idea of drinking a malty, spicy ale in the Summer heat is utterly repugnant to me.
