Next Friday I head east to visit family. Spending 4 days in Minnesota/Wisconsin and then 7 days in Hudson NY and NYC. I've got eyes on Surly, New Glarus and Founders for sure, but what other recommendations do you all have for me? I like citrusy IPAs and DIPAs, stouts, and scotch ales the most... Anything I can't normally get in AZ that is a must try in any of these states?
Ithaca Flower Power is tasty one. I'm not sure how wide their distribution is. Southern Tier Choklat and Oatmeal Stouts are both good as well. As a Central New Yorker, I have to plug some of "upstate" beers
Flower Power, Perpetual IPA, Double Jack, Union Jack are all available in NY. You might luck out and find Lunch, if it's in VA it should be in the NE. Furious is outstaying and case worthy as is flower power.
If you see Firestone Walker and you see the Double or Union Jack as mentioned above also look for their Wookey Jack which is their Black IPA very good
@Sneers, yes that indeed is a Deviant Dale's next to Stewert's Multivariable Calc book. We do get just about everythinb Bell's in AZ and I've had plenty of the Two-Hearted and Hopslam when I can get my hands on things. I'm excited to look for some Troegs among the other suggestions here, thanks for all the feedback!
Assuming you're flying...but if you're crazy enough to drive, pick up some White Rajah on your way through Ohio. Since you're going to be in Hudson, NY it's well worth the short drive to the other side of the Hudson River to Crossroads Brewing Co. for some Outrage IPA.
Perpetual is a must. So is white rajah. Stouts, I would go with GL blackout and some BA Boris from hopping frog
In WI also look for O'so especially Lupulin Maximus and Night Train, Tyrenena brewers gone wild anything if you see it, Ale Asylum, and Central Waters BBA stout and Y2K barley wine are out now.
Drive up to Vermont and get some Heady, Hill Farmstead and Lawsons. What's a couple of hours in the car?
