I'm part of a FB group from Philadelphia/PA and it was huge for about a year. Then, members bitched about all of the chug videos and it was a shit fest! Many of the "Chuggers' decided to leave the group and form another group where chugging craft beer wasn't bitched about. I don't get it either!

As per usual, the non-chugging beer type people weigh in as perspective... Helpful...
To weigh in as "inside" perspective, chugging a beer is fun! Especially if you have fun with it. And how much is a craft beer really? What about soda? Water? Juice? Are these things not guzzled down with gusto? Are you saying you have never wolfed down a pizza in your life? What is the difference? If you want to do with your beer as you wish, then do that. Why call people "dumb" or "bro's" and blanket the act of chugging as ill fated alcoholic tendency? From reading these comments about people/activities they know nothing about, many here are shallow minded and ignorantly ranting like old people on a porch. Not everyone who loves beer, brewing, and drinking is an irresponsible asshat, so chill out and live a little... Or don't and keep your mind closed off from what could be a fun challenge.
Point and case: Me with a yoga chug I learned from an old man on youtube. You are welcome.

I gotta say I LOVE chugging beer. Why do I do it? Mostly because beer is stupid. It brings me great pleasure to enjoy the butthurt reactions of individuals when I slam something on their "tick list".

    CHEERS!

Whatever happened to live and let live?

If you don't like chugging beer, good for you (I guess). Other people may want to do something dumb and stupid (it can be fun, you know).

"Best" chug vid I've ever seen was where some wanker poured *two* 22oz bottles of Fremont's BA Dark Star into what appeared to be a flower vase, and then he chugged the whole damn thing in, I dunno, under a minute. I still can't fully wrap my head around it. I was very very "impressed", much more so than my previous chug faves, which involved de Garde acid bombs, mainly because I derived great satisfaction knowing a horrendous stomach ache was almost certain to follow. #noregerts

I believe Paul and Linda McCartney updated the expression to 'live and let die'. #ymmv

I thought chugging was the appropriate way to consume beers.

Intravenous is the consumption method most widely accepted by modern society.

Girls chug craft beer too. Never thought of it as a "macho" thing. If you've got access to delicious craft beer, why would you chug toilet water?

Perhaps chugging is a way to stop ourselves from becoming pretentious snobs about beer?

These imbeciles who chug good Craft beer don't truly appreciate the art it takes to make the product. They're the same ones that drink Budweiser or Wildcat. Shameful.

I homebrew high quality craft beer from stouts, to IPA, to sours and I chug. I appreciate the science of beer as a biologist and chemist, and I learn more every single day because I love learning. I never drink corp beer if I can avoid it. But please go on, spout more opinionated ignorance...

I mean...here’s some guys from Off Color Brewing chugging a Plead The 5th with the brewer from Dark Horse who made it...I think they have a very good firsthand idea of the craft they make. And they’re chugging it. Cause who gives a f*ck?

If it was limited to folks just getting together and chugging, that's one thing - but when you post a video to youtube it doesn't further the credibility of craft beer drinking. Sure, it's funny, and to each their own - but I'd rather see potential craft enthusiasts getting a positive opinion about trying craft beer than watching the chugger videos, and getting a negative impression. Would be better if they chugged BMC.

Because fuck you, that's why. I think it's the ultimate slap in the face to a hoarder or whale **** to see somebody chug a beer that they damn near traded an organ for.

Correction. Doug is one of the owners of Metropolitan Brewery. PK brewed with them before moving over to Off Color. Both breweries are very serious about what they do, but they also aren't afraid to enjoy life.

Well, looks like the folks that were in that frat at 'Cuse found their new hobby.

Make sure y'all put "Professional Youtube beer Chugger" on your resumes. That'll lock that sweet new gig right in.
