If someone thinks that a thread is idiotic or embarrassing, why do they even bother to post in it? Or read it for that matter?

Just because as a craft beer fan and supporter I cannot point out the perfect pairings between cheese and beer along with the fact that I've never put an ounce of sweat or work into furthering craft beer does not make you better than me or these guys. You have no clue how hard I or those two work in their respective industries and fields. You collect a paycheck and a sense of pride for your work as do I and probably them. Lighten up. Watch their videos, "your industry" supports these two as do I.

I shotgunned a Heady earlier this year when the Browns scored a touchdown. Anyone who knows anything about the Browns knows why it was a big deal!

Jersey boys. if you put it in a can you have to check how it shotguns. i wish it weren't true but it is.

I would never had thought there was a 'downside' to putting craft beer in cans but know I know. Or maybe it is just a Jersey thing? Yeah, I'll go with that!!

I do like to drink (not shotgun) from a can shaped glass though. Maybe that is a Pennsylvanian thing!?!

    Cheers!

I did more than you in the two years of working as a stock boy in the beer department of two bottle shops.

are you seriously going to be pretentious over pairing cheese with beer? Granted the combination is great; the state of Wisconsin beat you to the idea...

Concerning the strange moral condemnations in this thread, what you do in the sanctity of your own home is no one's business but their own. You can make love to your craft beer, or bathe in it; that's all on you. Once you've bought it, it's yours to do as you please.

While not the norm, if I've got a nice pale or IPA in the fridge, after a long day at the office or a big bike ride, I may crack with the intention of pouring it into a glass but as soon as I pop the cap and the smell hits my nose, I'll take a sip.
And depending on the beer, that first sip becomes a deep swig. Which becomes half the bottle. By then, fuggit, might as well chug it.

A friend of mine was shotgunned a can of some 21st amendment/ elysian collaboration porter that I had in my fridge, not knowing what it was or asking me... not something I'd condone haha

In 2005 my friends and I started going to organized tastings at the great Jungle Jim's just outside of Cincinnati. I fell in love with good beer. Over the years, I've met and shared beers with countless people, some of whom thought beer was nothing more than Bud Light. I had very little do due with the boom, just a drop in the bucket, but I'm not sure how much credit I can really give to any one person outside of people like Fritz Maytag, Michael Jackson, Ken Grossman... I think great taste won out.

2 things: I don't care if beer is "elevated to the level of wine" whatever that means and it is not my or your place to tell people how to drink their beer. Also, I have never seen someone chug craft beer out anywhere and if I did, I just can't fathom how it would have any negative impact on the industry. Outside of the fact that I can no longer get a few beers that I used to with ease, I can't imagine things being any better than they are now. If you think a couple of people being "childish" and having a little fun is a big deal than I just don't know what to say. People make wine smoothies and some people even chug wine. Live and let live.

I've only chugged craft beer once. It was a Chelsea ESB from Smartmouth and I had to slam it down because it was three minutes before I had to leave for my next class that day. Given the circumstances, I was okay with it, but never would I do it on a regular basis.

This is stupid. The only way this would ever make sense is if you are being rushed out of your house or bar for some reason and you want to finish. That would be the only exception.
