I have some Gandhi bot that I'm looking to trade and got offered some CC Jai Alai, which i Know is a shelf beer in Fl. But how common is it to find in NY? Don't want to trade my rarer beer for a shelf beer. Any help is appreciated.

I see it every time I go to Rockland County, NY (once a month or so)- definitely seems to be a shelf beer to me.

I can get it easy. But it's usually a month or so old. If u want super fresh I'd trade for it

Thanks guys! Also, I've been trading through reddit and use untapped to rate/track my brews, but I can't post in the FT beers section here yet, any insight on why I don't have that capability yet?

You need to be active on the site for 30 days
Jai Alai is quite common in the city, I've bought it with less than 10 days from canning at least twice this year.
PM is you want to set an IP trade for Ghandi

Cigar City is not available in WNY or Syracuse area (not 100% sure on Syracuse)

I find Jai Alai is not always available and is hit or miss at most places I have gotten it at (WF in NYC, Cable in Bardonia, Good Beer in NYC). CCB Florida Cracker and Invasion are easily found but Jai Alai is not always in stock and I have not been able to find it in the last couple of months.

I've gotten 5 day old Jai Alai on Long Island before if that helps you. I've never had Gandhi Bot. I don't trade but the way everyone raves about GB definitely piques my interest. JA, fresh, is one of my favorites.

Anyone know where to find it fresh on Long Island? Everywhere I've seen it, it has been at least a month old.

Cigar City and Jai Alai are indeed available in Westchester county NY, SKI just has problems with having it in stock and when it goes to retail it mostly flies out. Been a while since it's seen distribution in these parts.

Haha, is Gandhi Bot rare? I was under the impression that NEBCO was pretty much continuously brewing it in pretty large quantities.

Seems like GB is definitely rarer in NYC than JA, since it isn't distributed there, but similarly seems like JA is definitely rarer than GB in CT since it isn't distributed there. Pretty sure that's why people trade in the first place.

Gandhi Bot, in cans, is definitely not a common commodity. They have it on tap quite often but finding cans of it, especially if you dont live a few miles from a store that commonly gets shipment, is near impossible. Comes and goes within a few hours of shipment and they don't make a ton of it.

I would not trade GB for JA. I have had both, and both are amazing, but GB is harder to get in can form and is definitely the better beer (by far). Seek out a better trade.

Fair enough. I was under the impression they make a lot more of it than they apparently do. Maybe grab a growler and trade it for some jai alai then...?

The new batch canned 4/14 is the best batch I've had in awhile. Back on point with the full citrus piney flavors. Some of the batches before this one seemed off to me.

GB is, IMO, quite a bit better and tastier than Jai Alai. However it IS a shelf beer in CT. Yes it's more limited but if you know the stores that get it it's on the shelf. If you want to try Jai Alai just trade a four pack for a four pack. That's what trading is about, not holding onto "rarer" beer to get the maximum value out of it. Again, IMO.

Really? I've never seen it on a shelf. I've taking many trips between RI and NY and always stop in to stores in CT to look for NEBCO beers, and almost every single time I've scored a few cans I've had to ask someone and they pull it out from the back. I'd say 95% of the time it is not available.
