I started seeing Cucumber Saison bottles around the city. First time I've seen any CCB bottles around; it used to be just the cans. Is this the beginning of expanded distro up here? Can we expect Marshal Zhukov and other bottles to make it up?
I was wondering the same thing. Also, is the cucumber saison worth picking up? I saw at a couple places for $10 a bottle, but ended up passing on it.
You used to be able to get their bottles up here. All of that dried up before the current wave of cans. Seen cucumber around as well.
I just mention Zhukov because I know they produce those in abundance. I wouldn't expect Huna or any of their barrel-aged beers to make it up here.
Cucumber saison was average. Haven't seen any other bottles. A few kegs of rum barrel aged Zhukov showed up for beer week last winter. That stuff was killer.
And we do again! Just scored a bottle at Astoria Bier & Cheese. 1 per person $17.95. Maybe we'll see it all over the city.
A small amount of Zhukov and Big Sound large bottles as well as Patio Pils 12 oz bottles and Invasion cans recently arrived in NY and went out to better beer stores in NYC, LI and Westchester.
Yes, the Bourbon Barrel Aged Big Sound bottles are here and there. I actually bought one at Beer Table for $37, which turned out to be a decent price. The only other place I saw it was at Half Time in Mamaroneck, and it was $47 there.
I liked it, but no doubt it ain't for everyone. It was perfect for a summer evening with my lady. Nothing like pickle beer to get the party started.
I've been keeping my eyes open for Zhukov but haven't seen it anywhere, guessing it's gone already. I was too far to grab a bottle in Astoria when they popped up.

Just picked up a Zhukov at Eastern District in BK. $18.50. They had one left just sitting on the shelf after I got mine. Good luck out there!
Good to hear some local stores will be getting Zhukov. Have not seen it yet but will be keeping my eyes wide open. In regards to the cucumber saison, I found it to be pretty awful in my opinion. It was like drinking straight cucumber.
